On 30 April 2023, Lakshay Krishnakumar etched his name into history by achieving an Asian record in open water swimming. Long before the recognition, medals, and milestones, his remarkable journey began at Yadhavi Sports Academy.

At our academy, Lakshay’s talent was identified, nurtured, and refined through disciplined training, technical excellence, and unwavering belief in his potential. What began as a young swimmer’s dream evolved into a historic achievement through structured coaching, perseverance, and relentless practice.

Lakshay went on to complete an extraordinary 15-kilometre open water swim from Neelankarai to Marina Beach — a feat demanding endurance, strength, and exceptional mental resilience. This outstanding performance earned him recognition in an Asian record register and marked the beginning of a record-breaking journey.

While Lakshay has continued to achieve new milestones, the foundation of his success — discipline, confidence, and competitive spirit — was built at Yadhavi Sports Academy.
