Yadhavi Foundation works to support children with special needs through inclusive programmes that promote physical activity, social interaction, and life skill development. Creating opportunities that connect children with nature and community is central to its vision.

Learning Through Play and Experience

The day began with an enjoyable bullock cart ride, followed by sensory-rich activities including mud play, pot breaking, pump-set bathing, and playful water swings. These experiences encouraged communication, teamwork, confidence, and fine motor development — all through joyful participation.

Discovering Nature Through the Senses

Children explored the farm by touching plants, feeling soft petals, smelling herbs, observing vibrant colours, and listening to animals and rustling leaves. This immersive experience supported sensory development while nurturing environmental awareness and curiosity.

Moments to Treasure

As the day concluded, parents joined the children for a heartfelt gathering where favourite moments were shared and new friendships celebrated. Parents expressed gratitude for the inclusive environment and recognised the positive impact such experiences have on their children’s growth and well-being.

More Than an Outing

This farm visit was not just a day trip — it was a celebration of inclusion, learning, and shared joy. Yadhavi Foundation continues to create meaningful experiences that enrich the lives of children with special needs and strengthen community understanding.

As the sun set, the day left behind smiles, confidence, and memories that will last a lifetime — a reminder that inclusion, connection, and love create the strongest foundation for growth.

A triathlon is a challenging endurance race combining swimming, cycling, and running over set distances. For this event, the Mini Enticer (Entry Level) category included a 500m swim, 5 km cycle, and 1.5 km run, conducted sequentially in the order of swim, cycle, and run.

Designed for participants aged 10 to 21 years, the triathlon aimed to raise awareness about this dynamic sport while fostering inclusivity, teamwork, and personal achievement. A total of 30 enthusiastic participants successfully challenged themselves within a 2-hour cut-off time, each receiving a medal and certificate for completing the race.

This inclusive triathlon not only encouraged physical fitness and endurance but also highlighted the importance of adaptive sports, inclusive athletic events, and confidence-building for children with special needs. Events like these continue to inspire young athletes to dream big, push boundaries, and celebrate their unique abilities.

Over the past four consecutive years, our institution has proudly participated in the annual event in Kochi, building a meaningful legacy of inclusion, confidence, and achievement for students with autism. What began as a modest initiative has evolved into a powerful platform where children showcase their abilities, develop social confidence, and experience the joy of recognition on a larger stage.

From 25 enthusiastic participants in 2022 to 40 confident and talented students in 2025, our presence has grown each year. Today, we are proud to be the largest group of autism students consistently participating in the Kochi event, representing progress in inclusive education and community participation.

Each year, our students have been honoured with the Achievement Award, recognising not only talent but also determination, resilience, and the courage to step forward and shine. These recognitions celebrate effort, perseverance, and the confidence gained through participation.

More Than Participation

Our journey goes far beyond numbers. It reflects a sustained commitment to building confidence, promoting inclusion, discovering hidden talents, and empowering every child to realise their full potential. Through structured preparation, supportive coaching, and encouragement, students develop communication skills, social interaction, and emotional resilience.

By fostering environments where differences are respected and strengths are celebrated, we continue to create meaningful opportunities for children with autism to grow, perform, and succeed.

We take pride in our progress over these four years and remain committed to expanding inclusive platforms and developmental opportunities for our students in the years ahead.

From the Marathon 2025 – 3KM (6th July, Vincera) and Half Marathon – 5KM (Navy, 2024) to dynamic triathlon performances in Pondicherry (2024) and at the Yoska Triathlon (2023), our athletes have consistently showcased endurance, discipline, and unwavering focus. Each race reflects months of adaptive training, physical conditioning, and confidence-building tailored for children with special needs.

A defining milestone in our journey is our participation in the IronKids 2026 — a globally recognised platform celebrating young athletic talent. We are especially proud to be the largest participating group in the Special Needs category, highlighting our commitment to inclusive sports training and equal opportunities in competitive athletics.

For us, these events are not merely competitions; they are powerful expressions of courage, resilience, and limitless potential. Every finish line crossed represents progress in physical fitness, emotional strength, social confidence, and independence.

Through structured coaching, adaptive training methods, and a supportive environment, our academy continues to empower children to break barriers, inspire communities, and redefine what is possible.

At Yadhavi, we do not just train athletes — we build champions.

The delegation, including world-renowned Japanese swimmer Yuma Edo-san, engaged with our coaches, parents, and children, sharing insights on training methods for kids with special needs. They also learned from Yadhavi’s unique training methodologies and appreciated the dedication and hard work of both our children and coaching team.

A highlight of the visit was the special recognition of our historic 165 km sea swimming expedition, successfully completed by 14 children from Yadhavi Sports Academy, earning global appreciation. Both teams discussed collaborative opportunities to promote inclusivity, autism awareness, and adaptive sports in India and Japan, paving the way for an international exchange of knowledge, skills, and inspiration.

Kamal Hassan shared a heartfelt moment with the children, their parents, and the dedicated coaches, capturing memories that reflected perseverance, encouragement, and inclusivity. In his motivational address, he emphasized the power of determination, inspiring everyone to chase their dreams and proving that with focus and commitment, anything is possible.

Beyond the physical accomplishment, the expedition served as a powerful platform to raise awareness about autism, highlight the potential of children with disabilities, and promote inclusive sports. Through such initiatives, Yadhavi Sports Academy continues to empower children, build confidence, and create opportunities for growth, skill development, and social recognition.

Children with special needs often face barriers such as lack of access, unsuitable training methods, or unsafe environments. Inclusive sports programmes remove these barriers by focusing on individual strengths rather than limitations. Through personalised coaching, children learn fundamental motor skills, coordination, balance, and body awareness at their own pace.

Swimming and multi-sport activities, in particular, are highly effective in improving muscle tone, sensory integration, and cardiovascular health. Just as importantly, sports encourage teamwork, communication, and self-belief—skills that extend far beyond the training ground.

At Yadhavi, safety and inclusion are central to every session. Trained and certified coaches ensure that each child receives the attention, encouragement, and guidance they need to progress confidently. The result is not just improved physical ability, but a stronger sense of independence and self-worth.
