SUMMARY:NALS Coonoor Camp 2022 – Empowering Children with Special Needs
DESCRIPTION:18th – 19th June 2022 | NALS Outdoors\, Manjacombai\, Coonoor\, Nilgiris\, Tamil Nadu\, India \nYadhavi Sports Academy organized a transformative two-day camp for children with special needs\, focusing on life skills\, social interaction\, independence\, confidence\, and neuromuscular development. Around 20 families and 10 coaching staff traveled with the children to NALS Outdoors\, supported by an expert 8-member NALS team. \nDay 1: Children participated in challenging yet safe activities\, including the rope walk with forward\, sideways\, and controlled drops\, building courage\, balance\, and confidence. Overnight dormitory stays encouraged peer bonding\, social engagement\, and independence. \nDay 2: The program included a 4 km guided trek through Nilgiri forests and a 30-feet rappelling exercise\, helping children develop neuromuscular strength\, coordination\, and self-reliance. All activities were completed independently\, allowing parents to witness their children’s growing confidence and capabilities. \nParents and children alike left the camp rejuvenated\, inspired\, and proud\, with families forming a supportive community. SUMMARY:Florid Kochi Swimathon 2022
DESCRIPTION:Florid Kochi Swimathon 2022\, India’s Largest River Swimathon \nThe Florid Kochi Swimathon 2022\, widely recognised as India’s largest river swimathon\, marked a historic moment in open-water swimming and inclusive sports participation. Held in Kochi\, this landmark event is known as South India’s first river swimathon and was inaugurated by Anwar Sadath. The event was organised in collaboration with Kerala Tourism and DTPC Ernakulam\, drawing national attention and participation. \nThe 2022 edition witnessed a record 233 swimmers\, including 112 participants from outside the state and 62 swimmers below 18 years of age\, making it one of the most inclusive and diverse open-water swimming events in the country. \nYadhavi Sports Academy proudly participated with a strong contingent of special needs swimmers and coaches. Nine special children successfully completed distances up to 2 kilometres alongside their coaches. In addition\, ten special children competed in the 5 km category\, ten special children in the 2 km category\, and two special children in the 400 m category\, all under the supervision of experienced swimming masters and Head Coach Sathish Sivakumar. Team coaches also competed in the 5 km\, 2 km\, and 400 m categories\, demonstrating leadership and endurance alongside the swimmers. \nAll participating children and coaches received medals and mementos in recognition of their determination\, courage\, and achievement. Their participation showcased resilience\, endurance\, and the effectiveness of adaptive swim training for children with special needs. \nThrough events like the Kochi Swimathon\, Yadhavi Sports Academy continues to promote inclusive sports\, build confidence\, and inspire communities by proving that determination and belief can overcome every barrier. \n
